ABOUT ME
Welcome to Of Color and Clay! I’m Joann Washburn, clay artist and certified color analyst.
I was born in Texas, traveled the world as a military brat, and eventually made my way back to southwest Texas where I am living with my growing family, parents, sister and niece. We love living on a beautiful property where chickens and a donkey play.
My own color analysis a couple of years ago set me on a new God-guided path. I saw myself differently, through the eyes of God . He designed me with specific colors in mind to allow me, His creation, to shine. I knew I wanted to share this with the world. In 2023, I became certified as a Sci-ART 12-tone color analyst and opened a humble studio on our property. I now desire to help as many people as possible see the colors God designed for them, too.
I took a chance on polymer clay and quickly realized how much I loved it! It gave me a space to create, unwind, and relax and produce something beautiful with God. I love how each piece is unique and has its own imperfections much like me.
When I’m not creating with polymer clay or working in my studio, you can find me homeschooling our 5 children, at Church working in ministry, or running sprints and lifting weights.
At Of Color and Clay, it is my desire to reveal the colors that make you shine and feel confident, and give you some fun jewelry to wear, too (maybe even a pair in your season)!
